Soleil Noir
In the heart of Christmas night, from the East, shines a star. It is called the “black sun” (Soleil Noir in french) symbol of the birth of the Christ, illuminating the world with a new message ; also symbol of this star in the core part of the winter solstice, illuminating the short days with a weak and soft light.
Such as Mary giving life in the darkness, springing up the light of revival on the world, we discover in the belly of the earth, in early caves and crypts, Black Virgins. Representations of the Mother of the Christian religion, but also of Isis, Demeter or Belisama, their existence raised many questions, and also increased the magic and mysticism that emerged from them. They are symbols of the creative force, and therefore, the elements: of Mother Earth, in which we find them and from which their material comes, but also of the abundant vine, of the water source of life or even of the Morning Star.
Soleil Noir explores those universal themes by drawing on centuries of writing, from Byzantine poetry to the melodies of Arvo Pärt, themselves rooted in the first polyphonies. Sublimating the mystery of primary spirituality, these works remind us of the importance of our Mother Earth and urge us to rediscover this instinctive anchoring, in this Nature which unites us spiritually and materially.
